The 2018 Primary Elections will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2018. Polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Absentee Voting


Ready to vote? Absentee ballot requests must be received in the Auditor's Office by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 25, 2018.

You can vote by absentee ballot in-person at the Hardin County Auditor's office from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, beginning on May 7, 2018, until 5:00 PM on June 4, 2018.

Voter Accessibility

Voters may choose another person to assist them with voting, except their employer, employer’s agent, or an officer or agent of the voter’s union. Curb-side voting is available at each site for voters unable to leave their vehicle. Voters wishing to use the curb-side option should contact the voting site or County Auditor’s Office at 641-939-8108 with an expected time of arrival. Absentee voting is available at the courthouse until 5:00 PM on Monday, June 4, 2018.

Registered to Vote?


To vote in Iowa, you must be registered to vote. To qualify to register to vote, you must be:
  • A U.S. citizen
  • An Iowa resident, AND
  • At least 17 1/2 years old (must be 18 years old by election day to vote)
